Zipp's newest generation of track hubs returns to a design with conventionally threaded axles (stainless steel: 9x1 front, 10x1 rear) and axle nuts (also stainless). Heavy duty hubshells which encase high quality sealed bearings have mid-size flanges (~58 mm p.c.d.) . Spoke hole options: 28° or 32° front; 28° or 32° rear. Alloy lockring included. For additional strength, the rear sprocket and lockring threads are rolled rather than cut and all spoke holes are coined rather than simply drilled. This is the hub model now found in Zipp's 2004 version of their 404 Deep Vee Track wheelset. |
